Pine Fresh Scent

Today was the big day to get a Christmas tree. In the spirit of buying locally we decided to do a cut your own farm. Ideally you go to one in September and tag your tree for later pick up. September was a bit crazy for us so we missed out on that idea. We hit the first farm and it was pretty well picked over. We found one that worked but neither one of us was comfortable paying $90 for a tree. We piled back into the car and headed to another one. This had a much better selection and not as far to roam. We narrowed down our choices and cut it down. Amazingly it did not fall off the roof on the way home. Or during our side trip to get construction paper. Once we arrived home Jeff went about getting the tree setup and we taught the kids how to make paper chains. They lost interest way before we had enough chain. So we convinced them to keep plugging away. And once they saw we had enough to cover half the living room they got excited again. Their job when they get up tomorrow is to keep working on it. Tomorrow is also when we will decorate the tree after it has time to get warmed up and settled.
