Since I Cheated Yesterday

Yesterday was all about Jeff as it should be when it is your birthday. Hint, hint (mine is coming up). Harper even helped out by waking at 6, snarfing a bottle and then going back down for two more hours. Lovely. And really Jeff insisted on making his own breakfast spread. He thinks it is because I am not a cook breakfast kind of person. But really it is a "I have cooked dinner all week, I want someone to cook for me" thing. So we feasted on eggs, bacon, pancakes and hash browns all whipped up by him. The I had to sneak out to pick up the presents the kids made last weekend at the paint your own pottery place. They came out awesome. Isabelle did a small frame with a heart cutout and Keegan did a small frame with a star cutout. They each wrote their names with pencil and I traced over them with paint. Harper wasn't there so I did one from him. Now Jeff can put their school pictures in and put them in his cubicle.

Jeff opted to order in Chinese for dinner so I picked up a bottle of wine to go with it. I chose a local vineyard's Riesling which was quite tasty. Before I left Jeff had asked me if I could pick up a can of frosting. He was going to make his own birthday cake! He thought I hadn't gotten him one. When in truth I had ordered one on Tuesday from the bakery that did our wedding cakes. In fact it was the same as one of them which needs to be made in advance so the flavors meld. The owner got a good laugh when I told him Jeff was ready with a box of chocolate cake mix.

My parents came over and we had a nice party for Jeff. And he opened all his gifts and read the kid's cards. And because I couldn't make up my mind in time his gift from me is arriving tomorrow. So he got a lame paper inside my card with a product description of his new GPS Forerunner 301. The funny part being that he thought I had written him a long sappy love letter he was going to have to read in front of my parents. Men.

Last night Jeff got to fall asleep having his head massaged for a good thirty minutes with one of those plastic massager things. It was a freebie from a kids' yoga class and is the greatest thing ever. I did that with one hand while my other hand was holding a book. A book I read until after 1am. Thank you Erika for getting me addicted to the Twilight series. Now I have another reason to be tired at work.
