Last night was our scheduled date night but was also an open house at a montessori we wanted to tour. So we did that first and then got dinner. The school was really very interesting. I had done some reading on the approach beforehand but there is nothing like seeing it in action. The teachers were there and some parents and some students too. All very enthusiastic and the one former student who is now an 11th grader was so well spoken and confident. You can't help but picture that for your child. At least I couldn't. It runs through the ninth grade but most kids transition after eighth grade. Jeff and I are going to schedule a time soon to observe when the kids are there. I am really excited about this being the right place for Keegan.
I think Obama should choose Michael Pollan as Secretary of Agriculture and if not, at bare minimum the person should have at least read his books.
And for those who were amazed by and maybe dissappointed by the elections here in New Hampshire:
Don't despair, granite is still beneath our feet.

I completely agree! Those books completely changed the way I eat and the way I think about food, and so much for the better.
I only just started reading the Twilight books, but I am enjoying them.
My sister and I went to a Montessori for Pre-K through K, but the school now goes to eighth grade. I know many kids who've gone through it and parents are very happy. The only complaints I have ever heard about ours is cost.
Do you suppose more Vermonters are moving to NH? Of course, we re-elected our Republican Governor and elected (by a lot) a Democrat President. Oh and our congressman ran as a Republican-Democrat! Are we confused or what?
