I turned in my grant today. Pushed the button at 3pm and it was due by 8pm. You actually get to push a "submit" button. But there is no loud band music or fireworks or even a pathetic computer voiced "yippee!" The federal government should work on that. My brain was mush after so I visited my friend in her new cubicle. All the way across the same floor. That totally counts as exercise right? Which brings me to the statement that Jeff made the other night.
"You know, I've never seen you exercise. In fact I have never seen you exert yourself."
I laughed but then realized he is right. Hmmm... In my defense I did live in a condo which ruled out any yard work. And once we were in a house I was pretty well knocked up. And he wasn't home that day 40 weeks in that I planted every flower I could buy at the garden center. I sweat a lot then but maybe more due to the 90 degrees and extra 25 pounds of pregnant splendor. We just don't have that kind of relationship where I have to prove I'm all sturdy and outdoorsy and not a princess. I know all of this myself and that's good enough for me. I had my stinky backpacking/rock climbing/whitewater days and my show the clients how no job was too dirty for me to do along side them days. And the step classes and aerobics days (lo those many years ago). Frankly I'm just not feeling it right now. Yes I will get my fanny on the elliptical soon. No really, before the end of the year. But that's a nice clean sweat about making me more healthy. Not about proving my strength. And Harper keeps me plenty stinky enough with the spitup.

This doesn't relate to your post at all but LOVE the title. I have a strong connection to that song, one time in college came home from the bar and decided I needed to hear it before I went to bed. Since this was before ipods or anything and i didnt have it on CD my only option was to call the radio station and request they play it. Classy. So now, i'm waiting for about an hour and they still haven't played it. So obviously, I call back and beg the dj to play it so I can go to sleep. 10 minutes later, I heard my lullaby and slept soundly :)
