Finishing this dish with lime zest and juice brightens its rich flavors.

Sunbeam

Today was a good day. The sun even came out for like a half an hour. We headed out to the store when it finally opened at 11am. We brought a couch pillow so we could color match. I have wanted the same rug the whole time. Jeff keeps his options open. We checked out the one he liked and the red was off. Then we saw a few others we liked. But I asked about the one I wanted. It has been discontinued. The good news is that means it was crazy on sale. And they had one left in the back in exactly the right size. As soon as we saw it we were hooked (ha, ha a rug pun). And they had a much smaller one we decided to get for in front of the stairs to bring the colors across the room. It looks fabulous in the room. And it gives us tons of other colors to bring in as accents. We also browsed for one for the dining room but will have to wait because we need an 8X11 and those are expensive. We also got a small rug on deep discount for a Christmas present for my parents.

So having saved a bundle I rushed upstairs to order not only the coffee table but the end table too! I can hardly wait a maximum of five business for them to arrive. With the living room all set we can settle in front of the fireplace when it gets cold again any day soon.

Then I went into the office to work on my grant. I got a ton done and the three hours flew by. Hopefully tomorrow will just be about edits and formatting. I wish the empty building didn't make so many weird noises.

Jeff is out running and I am baking raspberry cream cheese muffins that we put in before he left. They are taking forever to be done. I am guessing because the batter was dense. I will post the recipe if they turn out well.
