For my birthday I slept in until almost ten. Then Jeff came up to ask what kind of omelet I wanted. When I got downstairs it was ready along with bacon, toast and freshly grated hash browns. After stuffing myself I opened my presents. Keegan got me a stainless steel wide mouth funnel. Picked it out himself because I told him I wanted to learn how to can blueberries. Be careful what you say while reading "Blueberries For Sal." I did need one. And the card he got me had Princess Leia and R2D2 and plays the Star Wars theme REALLY loudly when you open it. I am guessing that card is more for him. Jeff gave me a necklace. That was a surprise because I was not expecting jewelry even though I usually get some. It is small beads threaded on a silk string. The beads are sapphires which apparently come in every color from pinks to greens to blues to whites. They are rough cut with facets so they glitter as they catch the light. I love it.
In the afternoon we went to Erika's post Thanksgiving get together. We spent time with friends and passed off some leftover appetizers from our celebration. Jeff had also made me a German chocolate cake which we brought to share. Halfway through the celebration my mom came from dropping my uncle at the airport. She took the kids home in our mini-van. We stayed a while longer and then left. We went shopping at Crate & Barrel and got some fun bar ware and some other kitchen gadgets. Then we ended the evening with fondue. We arrived home right about 11pm It was just a wonderful way to spend a birthday. The best of all worlds.

I love the fondue place. I WISH there was one around here. My parents live about a mile from one, so I am wondering who I need to bribe to go...
