Looks like it has been five days. My computer crashed (thank you Microsoft). I will pass on their service packs from now on. No Jeff I am still not switching to Linux. But thanks for restoring me. If my monitor keeps acting schizty I might have an excuse to buy a flat panel.
Catching up: Harper had his ophthalmologist checkup last Thurs. The good news is that his eye structure looks fine. The bad news is that they had to put a probe in his tear duct. That is just as awful as it sounds like it would be. They had a tiny papoose restraint system in the room when I walked in. I declined to stay in while they did it. Listening to him scream was enough. I am still recovering from holding Keegan down when he had stitches in the ER a few years back. If I felt like Harper would have gotten any comfort in me being there I would have stuck it out. He remains on antibiotics which cause horrible painful diarrhea. His little bum is so sore and causes him to have some tough days and nights. He had his pediatric checkup today and if he is not better by the end of the weekend they will want to see us again. In between he is the sweetie pie we know and love.
This past weekend we went to a BBQ at Erika's and on Sunday I took Keegan and Harper down to my parents' house. My relatives are in from California so they took Keegan swimming, kayaking and blueberry picking on the island. Harper slept almost the whole time and I got to talk to grownups.
Yesterday was the closing on Tom's house. It was at 4pm and I kept waiting for something to go wrong. But it all went smoothly and now his house belongs to someone else. Now we should be able to close probate and move the estate over to the guardianship.
Tomorrow I go into work to do an informal interview. My staff have a candidate for the secretary position they want me to meet. So Harper and I have our first business lunch and his official introduction to my colleagues.
Oh and Harper is 5 weeks old today. Amazing.

Once you go Ubuntu, you'll never go back. I'm going to surprise you one day.
Beware the XP SP3 people. It eats computers and doesn't let you roll back. Well, not this one at least.
I skipped the rest of the paragraph after you said they had to put a probe in his tear duct. It wigs me out when they have to do stuff like that to babies.
I'm just so glad he's doing well now.
My heart goes out to you and the little guy!
