Epidural was well received. They have been checking on her frequently and she was at 9.5cm for a while. It's been fairly quiet for around 45 minutes as they kicked in some more Oxytocin and Alisa has been relaxing. She says she can feel some different kinds of pressures down there in, you know, "the places."
The midwife said yesterday that she didn't see a reason why we wouldn't have a baby by dinner. I think that sounds like some of those airline ads: Leave in the morning, be in Florida for the sunset. In any event, she probably made the right call.
I'll tell you what: There's no better way to beat a heatwave than to have a baby. It's air-conditioned bliss in this room. Think about that next time you feel the summer swelter coming on.

I can't tell you how familiar this is all sounding. I remember for a while I was at 9 on one side and 10 on the other. I couldn't quite understand that, so I guess that's like 9.5. In any case, it sounds as if everything is still progressing well. I'm sending thoughts that everything continues to go smoothly (and quickly)!
I bet he's already here, but sending good delivery vibes anyway. Congrats, you guys. :-)
