8:15 - at the DMV the minute it opened.
8:40 - when they told me I had to go to town hall to switch plates. It cost me $10 for a copy of the current registration.
- Work -
11:40 - 12:15 - Town Hall where they tell me only the DMV can switch plates. They write me a short list of next steps to take. It cost my 45 cents for the parking meter.
12:20 - 12:45 - I go home for lunch. I will need my energy to deal.
12:50 - 1:10 - All set with the DMV and I have successfully switched plates with a car we no longer own. $0
1:15 - 1:45 - Town Hall where I get the plate off the car we don't own any more moved to the new van. This is where NH makes up for no sales tax. Ouch. I figure as long I am there I will renew Matsi's dog license ($7.50). Now we are both street legal.
2:00 Back at work. Needless waste of time. No wonder people hate us government employees.
On a different note I went to return library books after work. The guy in front of me had a whole pile. The one on top was "The Divorce Handbook." The best part - he was wearing an anklet bracelet tracking device. He is going to need a lot more than a book to get through that divorce.

UGH I feel your pain. Trying to register my car when I had an overdue parking ticket was a comedy of errors between me, Quincy city hall and the DMV. and by comedy of errors I mean the closet I have ever come to strangling a human being. good times!
