"This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood."

Another book describes it as having a swallowed a small chicken whole.  You can imagine how much room is left in your body for all the other parts.  I had the first nose bleed of my life last Saturday.  Nothing major just a big surprise.  And I am so pregnant looking that no one can miss it.  Almost everyone has asked me when I am due.  And people who don't ask me just look at my belly and smile.  I keep consistently measuring two weeks ahead but I still don't feel terribly big.  I have been more tired just as expected.  I slept a ton Friday night and then needed a nap 4 hours after waking up so I took a 2 hour nap.  Today I took another 2 hour nap.  I have had to sleep propped up for several nights in order to combat the acid.  And unfortunately I have had headaches on a daily basis this week.  I am hoping another hormone shift will send them away for the remaining 7 weeks.
