Okay it is 32 weeks and 4 days by the time I am posting this.
"By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth."
Jicama was actually our second choice for a name. It goes so nicely with Druzba. ;)
I had my midwife appointment last Friday and all continues to go well. I am going to have an ultrasound at 36 weeks since I had a low amniotic fluid problem with my first pregnancy. This should give us peace of mind and be one last look before he comes out. I am having shortness of breath especially when I am sitting at my desk. My kness now hurt when I take the stairs so I am cutting back. Weight gain is good, about a pound in the last two weeks. I feel comfortable that it is all baby weight and not bad eating habits. Not to say I don't splurge on occasion. Darn Easter candy and my current weakness, root beer floats. Although GS cookies aren't holding too much appeal for me right now. That's just plain weird. I tried wearing support hose last week. Jeff got quite a chuckle watching me try to put them on. After all that wrestling I ended up taking them off at work because they make my pants slide down below my belly. Revel in that awesome image of coolness at work. I have thigh high versions on order at the pharmacy. I'm so old lady sexy.
Back to the name. We have one. It is a secret. I had one I was lobbying for that Jeff had originally suggested. Finally at dinner two weeks ago I asked for the umpteenth time if we could just pick a name and Jeff agreed. I think he wanted to keep the options open for as long as possible. Let me assure you that we scoured the globe before deciding.
