Happy birthday to my son.  When they made you they broke the petri dish.  I know that two years of infertility were all because you are supposed to be my child.  And you came along exactly at the right time.  I know that the 32 years before your arrival were preparing me to be your mother.

Thank you for the love, joy and new perspective on the world you have brought to my life.  Your enormous personality keeps me excited about what the future will bring.  I can not wait to see what kind of person you become.  I know you have so many people who love you to celebrate the good times and support you through the challenges.

Because of you I had the courage to end an unhappy marriage and the incentive to model healthy relationships.  Because of you I had the inspiration to change my lifestyle, lose 40 pounds and become a healthy mommy.  And when your father died you gave me the strength to get out of bed every morning and the ability to simply breathe even though it was the most pain I had ever felt.

In you the best part of your father lives on.

You are a miracle.  You are my hero.  I am proud to be your mother.
