Meat On A Stick
We got to go out last night. The babysitter came over and met us and Keegan. She seems really great and responsible. She is a former early childhood educator from an excellent center. Keegan started off kind of shy but by the time we left they were deeply involved in legos. I took Jeff down to Manchester for the birthday dinner raincheck. We had seen those ads for Brazilian Steak Houses in airline magazines and wondered what the big deal was. I found one in NH and knew Jeff would love to try it out. Meat, people. Tons of meat on sticks being brought ot your table. All you can eat. Does it get any better than that? We put in a bottom layer of salad and then they brought out the sides and fresh plates. You have a circle with red on one side and green on the other. You flip it over to let the guachos know to bring on the meat (green) or to give you a chance to eat what you already have (red). We had little bites of turkey wrapped in bacon and filet mignon in bacon. And if I can remember; pork loin, prime rib, flank steak, sirloin, sausage, lamb and pork ribs. It was all marinated, juicy and cooked to perfection. We actually had dessert on top of that. I think we're having only vegetables for the rest of the week.
When we got home the babysitter said Keegan had done great and she thought he was such a cool kid. So we booked her for next week too.

Ha! We have one block in midtown here that's filled only with those Brazilian steakhouses, and my boyfriend loves that block! There are all of these great side dishes, too, and whenever I take any of those, he tells me that's a bad strategy because it leaves less room for meat.
love rodizio! (did i spell that right? it doesn't look right)
am planning on taking a group there for my birthday ... we are near newark (nj) and there is a nice section called the ironbound that has several restaurant choices (but the sides are buffet style, yuck).
glad to hear that you've found a potentially good babysitter. priceless in my opinion! :)
I've wanted to go there. My husband has gone a couple of times for work and hates it, which surprises me since he is a meat and potatoes kinda guy. I'd like to get there soon and try it for myself. It's meat - what could be wrong with that??
