Friday Goodness

Today has been a good day.  I called the pediatrician this morning and was able to get an unused appt time for Keegan's flu shot.  I hated to wait this long but I had to get him healthy first.  I picked him up and he was very unhappy about where we were going.  He asked to listen to Justin Robert's "Doctor, Doctor" and that seemed to calm him down.  He was so cute as he hung his head and stomped into the office when they called his name.  I held him on my lap and he cried when they put the shot in his leg but recovered quite quickly.  He proudly displayed his sticker for bravery.  Then I took him across town to my midwife's office.  I had forgotten I was supposed to get my flu shot yesterday.  They got me in quickly and he watched while I got my flu shot.  Ouch.  Then he gave me a sticker for being brave.  I'm still wearing it.  That is one more task complete.

When I returned to work my new laptop and PDA had finally arrived and were fully installed.  It took forever but they will make mine and my staff's lives much easier.  No more double entering calendar items for my secretary.  And my old laptop will go to one of my staff who needs the ability to work outside of the office.  Her father is very ill right now and I am trying to do everything I can to support her.  I am giving my old personal PDA (which they never allowed me to connect to the network) to my mom to hopefully make her life easier.

And finally, I have been dealing with a difficult work situation with the potential to get ugly.  Why can't people who have done wrong recognize it and let it go?  And why does he think a letter from an attorney is going to intimidate me in any way?  Fortunately I run a tight ship and have the contract language on my side.  You know that tiny print at the bottom?  Comes in handy sometimes.  I don't take wasting tax payer money lightly.

And tomorrow I am off to get a maternity massage and foot treatment.  That will hit the spot.  I am also going to try and get my secret santa shopping done.  We do gift exchange next week.
