Curried Beef Short Ribs

Note: I found this was more realistically four servings.

Finishing this dish with lime zest and juice brightens its rich flavors.

We actually did not have that many kids trick or treat this year.  Jeff and Keegan were out for about 45 minutes.  They came home with more candy than I gave out.  And five of them were full sized candy bars.  Is that necessary?  Of course Jeff has decided they are daddy sized bars.
Keegan returned to school on Thursday with a low activity plan.  He has been doing better and I think the steroids are helping.  I am not sure if the inhaler does but we are following the dosage.  That kid loves to take medicine.  That bodes well for him being a pharmacist or a junkie.
Friday night we had a neighbor and her son over for pizza and play time.  I wasn't up to taking them out to a restaurant and it makes it impossible for us to talk at all.  Her son is just over two and still difficult to keep seated.  Earlier than evening I had gone shopping at my favorite jewelry store.  I realized a few months ago that I don't have a really nice necklace to wear for dressy occasions as well as to work.  I had an idea of what I wanted but I wasn't sure.  I knew it once I saw it.  And it turned out to be one made by the owner.  I bought it and it became the third piece I have designed by him.  While I was there they cleaned my rings ands checked the stones.  He asked me what I do because the back of my right hand ring is all hammered when it started smooth.  I told him I don't do manual labor but maybe it's because it is on my right hand which I use the most.  He told me about an aerobics instructors who's rings have similar wear and her's is from all the free weights.  Unfortunately not the case for me.  I have located a yoga studio I want to try out but I need to meet with them to be evaluated before joining the class.
Today was cold and rainy so we did family errands.  Car registrations and inspections are due in the month of your birthday so we did both cars today.  Then we refreshed our library books and took the kids out to lunch.  We ended with going shoe shopping.  My closed toe brown heels were ruined in the flood at Tom's house last winter so I bought a pair of suede with patent trim and a pair of leather ones (I paid less than half that).  I also wanted some ballet flats so I got a fun pair of black polka dots (like these only black on gray) for $20 on sale.  Jeff and I usually agree on shoes but he thinks those are a bit wacky.  I say for that price wacky is okay.  Then we went home for a nap.  Nothing better on a cold rainy day.
