I am back in the office after a decadent three day weekend.  Jeff took me on a surprise anniversary getaway to Montreal.  I had never been but I knew he was a big fan.  It is only four hours away and I know it sounds silly but feels like another country.  Like Paris without the snottyness.  And there is gelato on every corner and shopping and wonderful food.  We stayed in this beautiful boutique hotel in the old port section.  Our room was on the river side and had beams and floor to ceiling windows and a two person jacuzzi tub and was elegantly furnished.  The service was very personal.  We did tons of shopping and walking and enjoyed the contemporary art museum.  We fell in love with Vik Muniz's work which I had never seen before.  Sunday night we went to the botanical gardens for the lantern festival.  I have never seen anything like it.  Just breath taking.  Jeff took tons of pictures.  We finished up yesterday with a carriage ride and then headed home.  He got his poutine which is nasty but seemed to make him happy.  And at dinner Sunday night I got beautiful gold earrings from my favorite jewelry store in downtown Concord.  And that made me extra happy.  A fitting celebration for our first year of marriage which has absolutely flown by.  A good sign huh?

Thank you to my wonderful husband who has never let a day go by without me knowing how much I am loved and always waking me up by telling my how beautiful I am.  I know you feel lucky.  I feel lucky too and so very grateful for you in my life.
