Darn Machines

The compressor at work has been breaking down all week. The other day it was very stuffy in here. Yesterday it was better. I haven't been too hot but some people will take any excuse to complain and not want to work. Today it seems to back to normal. So of course we have a false alarm fire drill so we get to go outside on one of the hottest humid days of the summer. Ugh. Thankfully I brought my breakfast smoothie out with me. Other people brought their car keys and drove to DD for iced coffee during the alarm.
When we were driving to the Berkshires last weekend my car started to act up. It seemed to only be the turbo so we were okay getting back and forth. By the time I got home on Sunday several lights were lit up on the dashboard. I couldn't get an appt until Thursday. They called yesterday to say it was the turbo, they would have to order the part and of course it would cost serious $$. Isn't that what always happens when your car is paid off and you actually have some extra money? Since it isn't really isn't an option I went ahead and had them fix it. It should be done for today. I hate it when things break and there is no way to prevent it. It was nice being picked up by Jeff last night and then picking the kids up and all being home at the same time together. This morning they dropped me off again which was sweet because I am usually the one saying goodbye and leaving them.

The husband bought the company car from work so we could have an extra when family comes to visit and he would use it as the to and fro car in the winter, rather than his truck. In the past month, we've shelled out more money than what we paid for it, on repairs. It's maddening. The check engine light has been lit on my car for nearly a year and a half. T*am N*ssan in your town wants to charge at least 1K just to turn it off. Jerks.
