Wednesday night was date night, finally. We went to one of the movie theaters where you sit at a table and order dinner during the movie. That was awesome and has spoiled me for all other theaters. We saw Knocked Up which was great and very funny. It is one of the movies where every scene has a new character and you're like, "Hey, it's that guy."
Yesterday for our first day off Keegan and I met up with Jenny, Doodles and Sweetie Pie at an indoor playground. We had been planning this for over a month and realized that our busy schedules finally meshed on June 14. We had hoped to do something fun and summery outdoors involving water, etc. but the weather was gray and cool. The playground was fun and we all had a good time climbing, swinging and sliding. Afterwards we took them out to lunch and they were so good Jenny and I actually had a chance to chat. Unfortunately I had to take a 1pm conference call for work so we were off.
Keegan and I headed over to Erika's. She took Sammy and Keegan across the street to a birthday party while I did my call. And I was glad to be on the call because the group decided to not pursue the grant. This grant has been very involved and was going to drive my co-worker and I crazy for the next two weeks. So I can't say the news was bad and the information we gathered can be used in other ways. I joined the birthday party and it was fun to watch that backyard full of kids racing around. Keegan designed his own foam crown which he insisted on wearing for the rest of the day. As the afternoon wore on we took some quiet time at Erika' s and then Keegan and I headed home. He was asleep in about five minutes.
Quotable quotes:
His babysitter commented on how smart he was. I asked him how he got so smart and he said, "You mom."
Then this morning he asked if it was a school day and I explained that it is closed. I told him that I took off work so we could play. There was a pause and he answered, "But I want to be at school with my friends." Thanks.
But all day yesterday he would randomly come up to me and tell me he loved me. We all know that will wear off in a few years so I am going to soak up the love and little boy hugs as much as possible until then.

Sounds like a fun day! Can we talk about Knocked Up for a minute -
1. did you notice that Ben's dad was Egon from the Ghostbuster's movie? Best part for me.
2. Like every character from the office made an appearance
3. So was not expecting the full birth shot, considering my Catholic high school felt it unnecessary to show us the "miricle of life" video in health class, I was really not prepared for that.
Ok - hope you have a great weekend!
HI, did you go to Chunky's to see the movie?
hey girl, I'm catching up. Glad to hear things are good for you. Scottie also didn't want school to end. At four now, he still tells me several times a day that he loves me so there's hope yet for our little guys! Have fun on vacation.
