Grounded

I'm back. Yeah, I know you didn't even know I was gone. On Sunday I flew down to DC. I was stuck on the runway for two hours up here, circled while they cleared the runway in DC and then was stuck for an hour waiting for a gate. But all in all not terrible. That evening I went to the annual Oscar party at Andra's where I won prizes for witty comments and having seen the fewest number of movies.
Monday and Tuesday I attended the policy institute and on Tues afternoon made visits to the Hill. Our Reps are so new that hadn't even hung pictures on the walls let alone hired all of their staff. Still always a pleasant reminder of why I fled the whole DC scene despite having a degree in poli sci. Monday night we had gone out for tapas and two pitchers of sangria. I flew back last night and was home for dinner. Jeff had done a wonderful job while I was gone and so not only were the kids happy, the house was in order and he also found time to get my car inspected and have the oil changed. And he packed me a delicious salad for lunch today. Gotta love him.

I was so glad I decided not to travel this week. I hate to fly anyway and the weather would have pushed me over the edge. Driving down to DC in April.

There is nothing like a good salad. Made one tonight...cottage cheese...ummmm. LOL
