This past weekend was full of holiday happenings. Sat evening we met up with Erika, Jay, Sammy, Jessie, Nate and Emily for a winter wonderland ride. It culminated in meeting Santa and his reindeer at the North Pole. The kids were all so good with Santa, not shy at all. Then we walked back to the petting barns to visit the animals some more and warm by the bonfire. Keegan savored his first candy cane ever.
Sunday we headed to the Reilly's for their annual holiday brunch. We ate way too much but had a great time visiting with friends. And we got to see Erika, Jay and Sammy two days in a row! Keegan and Isabelle played elves passing around surprise gifts for all of the grownups there. I scored a harmonica and a kazoo. Both of which the children have since adopted as their own. Of course the children all received gifts too. K & I got a gingerbread house kit that I am sure we will be building at some point in the next few days.
After leaving the Reilly's we headed to a Hannukah open house at Jenny, Adam, Doodles and Sweetie Pie's. I got my latkes craving taken care of and also scored some rugulach. Jeff and even I began to wither rapidly so we decided to head home. I ended up going to bed at 9pm. A whirlwind but worth it.
