Happy Monday! Thanksgiving was great. The food was wonderful and dividing the workload made everything really easy. Plus I actually find cooking relaxing. Jeff loved his foray into making our own bread. I predict more of that in our future. We had a nice crowd at my parents including my aunt, uncle and two cousins in from California and Erika, Jay and Sammy. We are a Parade/Dog Show/Football family so everyone was happy. Friday we met my parents, g-parents and California crew in Portsmouth for lunch and the weather was so nice we spent hours walking around and playing in the park. Jeff and I went back to the dock where he proposed. I also squeezed in a little antique shopping on the way home. I didn't buy anything but I did meet a woman who may be interested in buying some of the jewelry I have from when I used to collect. Saturday was low key, doing errands, getting haircuts for the boys and indestructible dog toys for the pups. Sunday we went to Erika and Jay's for brunch. Two weeks in a row of us making Orange-Pecan French Toast Casserole. I might finally be sick of it. Su and Jay were also there. One of our girls from when Erika and I used to work at the teen center is all grown up (21 now) and wanted us to meet her fiancee. It drove home once again the unknown impact you can have on people's lives. We met her when she was in eighth grade and we are still connected after all of these years. We stayed all day because the kids are so good at napping there. Erika has a picture on her flicker of me with Keegan and Sammy. I love it. I love having a lap full of my guy and her guy.
I should really be having lunch right now but I am stuffed. My staff surprised me with a homemade peach trifle. We are celebrating my birthday early because I will be at a conference all day on Wed.
No new TV/show cancellations have rejuvenated our Netflix use. Saw two movies recently. Aristocrats was funny, it didn't make me a better person but it was time well spent. And it was truly the dirtiest joke I have ever heard, one hundred times. I enjoyed A Love Song For Bobby Long and it made me nostalgic for NOLA. Then the next day I found out that I have a business trip there in Feb. It will be my first time back since Katrina.
