Red Golden Dreams

I have been friends with these women since our baby boys were two months old. In fact one of them is also my attorney.

Saturday after gymnastics we met up for apple picking. Well the boys were more into the eating. Then they raced around this track in plastic vehicles and busied themselves in the playhouse. At home later Keegan napped and I got some Tivo time. For dinner we made Classic Beef Pot Roast from this month's issue and it was truly excellent. We had apple pie for dessert of course. After the kids went to sleep we previewed DVDs to choose a band for the party. Leave it to us to decide we want live music less than a month beforehand. Part of it was due to budget also. The fewer people come, the more fun for the rest of us!
Sunday we took the kids fall clothes shopping. We even managed to get a few things for ourselves. Dinner was Cheesy Spinach-Artichoke Dip made in a slow cooker which was also very good. The kids loved scooping it up with the homemade wheat pita chips. The rest of dinner was pasta, a family favorite.
If you had today off I hope you enjoyed it. I worked but it was good because I didn't have any meetings or conference calls and no phone calls because I think people assumed we were closed.

That looks like such fun! What's cool also is that the boys will be such great friends through their lives!
