Fri night we met up at Erika's for pizza and a visit. Saturday morning we went into the inn to finalize the details for the November party (menu in previous post). I pulled out some hidden toys from Keegan's January birthday which helped the kids stay occupied while we met. I dropped Keegan off at Tom's. Dinner was scallops over pasta with Tr*der Joe's vodka tomato sauce. Sunday was rainy and cold again and so lunch was Golden Potato-Leek soup from the freezer along with organic bread that I smeared D'Afinois on. After Tom brought Keegan back we went to the grocery store to stock up on ingredients to use in recipes aimed at using up some of those veggies we get each week. Dinner was Chicken and Summer Vegetable Tostadas which was very good. We did not have zucchini like we thought so we substituted green pepper. Monday we headed down to Jenny and Adam's for brunch and fun. She makes a mean egg casserole and muffins so good even Keegan didn't notice they had zucchini and carrots in them. It was a gorgeous day and the kids really enjoyed the backyard. Keegan was upset saying goodbye to Isabelle for the week and cried for 20 minutes afterwards. He spoke to Tom on the phone and that seemed to help him feel less sad in general. A bike ride at home and a good book before bed also worked wonders. Last night we made Shrimp Fried Rice which wasn't stellar but made a good lunch today. Tonight we ate leftovers to make room for more dishes we have planned for the week. We have got to use some more of the green bell peppers that are clogging up the refrigerator.

You two cooks in the same kitchen full time are a dangerous prospect! Are you available for hire, say, somewhere in the northern MA area?
