I am working today. I figured if Keegan's daycare was going to be open I might as well work. I am actually looking forward to peace, quiet and no meetings to get some things crossed off my list.
Friday I finished my report and rewarded myself by going to Keegan's parade (stroll down Main Street) and then we had a hot dog picnic on the state house lawn. That evening we cooked shish kabobs on the grill. Saturday morning we went down to the lake, took a boat ride, Jeff took Keegan swimming while I helped my dad get lunch ready. Afterwards we dropped Keegan at Tom's and headed to Jessie's for a bbq. We saw other friends with and without babies there too. When we were heading home Jeff asked me what I wanted to do. I said that I wanted an ice cream sundae for dinner and then to go home and slow dance with him. And that is what we did.
Sunday we were actually able to sleep in until the delicious hour of 9:30am. When we went out for lunch Jeff suggested getting a mattress so we could put Keegan's bed together. So we did and it was all set for him when Tom dropped him off. Keegan made quite a few excuses to keep getting out at bedtime but he did finally settle down and slept until we woke him this morning. Jeff is headed back to pick up Isabelle and then head home to get some things for her and then they will come all the way back here. If the weather holds out we'll spend tomorrow at the lake.
I forgot to mention the miracle: We went to dinner at B*ston Market yesterday. I offered Keegan some of my chicken and then he would be allowed cornbread (his favorite item there). He actually ate a decent portion of roast chicken which is the first time he has had chicken without a batter coating. A whole world of possibilities has opened. Potentially.
