Fri night we took the kids to what is becoming our favorite place. Cheap, good food and you order at the walk up window which is instantly kid friendly. And ice cream, yummmm. Sat I took Keegan to gymnastics and then we hit the grocery store on the way home. I think the rain is getting to us both because he was wild and I was not finding the patience. But I guess that is what I get for putting him in a shirt that says, "You can't catch me!" Jeff and Isabelle met us at the door to carry in the groceries and then we did meal prep. We invited friends and their son who is a couple of weeks older than Keegan over to play and for dinner. At the time I was hoping we could go to the playground but the constant rain ruled that out. Instead they played inside and then Jeff pulled out some science experiments for them to try. One was a success and one failed but the kids were entertained allowing us to cook. We served two things we have made before (Honey-Hoisin Pork Tenderloin & Apple Strudel) and two new recipes (Creamy Herbed Mashed Potatoes & Mixed Greens Salad with Honey-Orange Dressing). Everything was good and went well with the Chardonnay. It was our first dinner party with kids in attendance and it went pretty well. Even Jeff was worn out by the end of the day and that man has limitless energy with children.
Today the sun sort of came out so we headed for some much needed playground time. Afterwards we went home for lunch and then said goodbye to Jeff and Isabelle. Keegan did not sleep during his naptime but at least he had some quiet playtime. He did go down a little earlier tonight. I have an exciting evening of chores ahead and no new TV to help me procrastinate.
