Friday nights we either take the kids out or order in. There is rarely time to shop and cook something at home. But the rest of the weekend we did our usual thing. My parents came over for lunch so we served Tangy Roast-Beef Sandwiches and Macaroni Salad with Gorgonzola. I am not normally a fan of macaroni salad but this one was very light and the mix of flavors and colors was nice. After lunch we helped Keegan and Isabelle plant their seeds. They each have a mini greenhouse. Keegan lost interest before we were done but Isabelle planted all of her peppers and herbs. My mom and I finished Keegan's flowers and herbs. They are in a warm place and hopefully in 7-10 days there will be sprouts. Then they ran around the house stopping for fresh oatmeal raisin cookies and then naptime. We all ended up taking naps until I woke up to take Keegan down to Tom's. For dinner we made Three-Cheese Chicken Penne Florentine which is the cover recipe on this month's issue. It was really delicious although I might cheat a little next time add more cheese. :) It was just as good as leftovers for dinner last night. After Isabelle went to bed we watched The Constant Gardener. It was great and we both loved seeing Kenya again but the storyline will bum you out.
On Sunday we went down to see Sammy. I did not get to hold him but there is plenty of time for that later. Erika and Jay came down to the cafeteria to hang out while we had lunch. Then Jeff went into see Sammy and we left a short while later. They headed back to Maine and I went to pick up Keegan who was happily sweeping Tom's garage. I was going to watch the Oscars last night and I did watch some of the red carpet for the fashions. But I decided to watch netflix instead as I am trying to get through all of Sex and the City. It was the last disc in Season four so it was about divorce, having a baby and long term relationships ending. So that kind of bummed me out too. But I need to see the whole series so I can get closure. I had to do the same thing with Dawson's Creek and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Oh and that is also why I still watch ER.

Season 4 of SATC was the most depressing of all of them. I so love that show, though-even though I didn't care for how it all ended. I'll wait for you to finish before I go off on that.
I still watch ER for the yumminess that is Luka. Oh, and I like Maura Tierney.
The mini greenhouse sounds like a lot of fun! Maybe I should get off my behind and plant something with the kids...
thanks for reminding me that I have seeds to plant; some orange/yellow impatiens. sounds like a great weekend and I'll be back to snag those receipes.
wait have you been to Kenya? let's discuss!
