I just read Erika's answers to this meme. No surprises there but I know her pretty well. I think I could add a few more to her list. But that's not what the meme is about . This meme is to write five weird habits about yourself.
1. I am obsessive about cross contamination in the kitchen. Separate cutting boards for meat, chicken, fish, fruit/veggies. And they are color and symbol coded. Separate sponges for dishes and the counter. Color and shape coded. Separate towels for drying hands and drying dishes. Kept on opposite ends of the kitchen so there is no confusion. I hate soaking dishes. All that water sitting in the pots growing bacteria. How can I be expected to focus on anything else? No leftovers stay in the refrigerator beyond four days. Out it goes.
2. I have to know the exact time I go to sleep and then I count the hours of sleep I will get down to the minute. I don't know why. Maybe it's an ongoing experiment to see what my optimum sleep time is.
3. I only weigh myself once per week, on a Thursday. Anything more is obsessive and not productive because weight can change day to day and this way I feel like I have better handle on my real weight. I picked Thursday because that is the weigh-in day of my co-worker who goes to WW. I don't go but it seemed like a good day. That way I know how I did that week and how much I can splurge without guilt on the weekends.
4. Every weekday morning I have the same thing for breakfast. When I get to work I drink a Stonyfield Farm yogurt smoothie. An hour or so later I have piece of citrus fruit (grapefruit, orange, clementine, tangelo). If I have a morning meeting I drink it on the drive but skip the fruit.
5. I sleep on the right side of the bed. Even alone I always pick the right side. I tried the middle but I eventually work my way over to the right. Hotel rooms, king size beds, doesn't matter. The only time I don't have to sleep on the right side is if I sleep with a friend. Because really I can't boot them off of their side on their own turf can I? Poor Jeff tries to get me to switch and sometimes I do it for love. But I just don't feel right the next morning.

I always sleep on the left (if on my back...the left side of the bed). I also do the same thing with time and sleep. I also check and recheck the alarm clock. Obsessive compulsive!
