Friday night babysitting went fine. I highly recommend the divide and conquer approach. Heather loved Harry Potter and we helped her carry a sleepy Zach out to the car. On Sat morning we went to a friend's community craft fair. I still don't have the holiday bug. We got a couple of unusual jams, Keegan scored a free tortilla chip and I purchased balsam wreaths for myself, my mom and Erika. We ended up stopping by Heather's because Zach had left some things behind. My parents came over for lunch and we fed them Cajun Shrimp-and-Corn Bisque and Barbeque Chicken-and-Black Bean Burritos. Both amazingly easy and delicious. My dad kept raving about them. Email me for recipes and modifications. After playing I actually got Keegan to nap. The grownups sat around and talked and my mom said she thought I was different now. Further questions and she said I had not cooked so much in years and that really I was back to being me.
Later we dropped Keegan at his dad's and did errands and then a quiet night at home. This morning we had planned to do another pancake recipe but decided to do our lunch plan as brunch and save the pancakes for another time. We had the leftover shrimp and corn bisque with Monte Cristo sandwiches. Jeff had decided to leave earlier than usual so he could pick up Isabelle today instead of tomorrow. So we spent the last hour curled up on the couch under a blanket talking. And when he left I actually believed for a whole two hours that I wouldn't miss him as much this time. I was wrong.
I have never felt so completely loved and content as when I am with him.
PS Keegan just got home and after we took off his jacket and shoes he asked about Jeff. I simply told him that he had gone home. He nodded and headed upstairs.

I haven't been bitten by the holiday bug yet either. I hope it bites soon. Last year it bit the day before Christmas and well, by then it was too late.
I am very happy for you. You sound so very happy. :)
The bug hasn't hit me, either...
But you've been bitten by the LOOOOOVE bug-much better than the holiday bug, I must say. :)
I remember when Dee and I weren't living together yet and she would leave to drive 2 hours home. At first I would think this is going to be ok but that feeling didn't last long and I would miss her so much.
I swear there is nothing better when your kids approve and actually like the person that you're in love with. Sappy as it sounds it makes my heart melt!
