Harvest Plans

I just made my plans for Thanksgiving. Tom agreed to let me have Keegan for the holiday. So we are going down to Long Island to celebrate at my grandparent's house. My family from California will be there and they haven't met Keegan yet. I can't remember the last time I had Thanksgiving on LI. I am looking forward to walking on Jones Beach and watching my cousins chase Keegan around the yard.

Edited: My aunt is so excited she offered to pay for my gas to drive down.

take the ferry...it eliminates at least 2 hours (maybe more for the holiday) of the drive. Book it now!

From where you are, you could either take the New London -> Orient Point, and drive the length of LI, or the Bridgeport -> Port Jeff, and snake through Harford/New Haven.

My opinion is that the NL>OP ferry is the way to go b/c that whole 84/91/95 section in CT is always jammed for the holidays.

Or...go the way you were planning on going. See if I care :-P

Can we convince you to cancel those plans and spend T-day with us again?

I agree, take the ferry! ... and I also agree that 84/91/95 is such a clusterfudge. Gosh, I don't miss that! :)

Sounds like a great way to spend the holiday. Yay for family plans!

I have family on LI, but rarely do I make it down there...I hope you have a wonderful time!

Wahoo, have fun! I refuse to drive anywhere during Thanksgiving. The traffic, most especially trying to get from 84 to the MA turnpike SUCKS! My folks are in Va and after the long ride, I go nutty at that toll booth.

Ohhhh you are going to be SO CLOSE!!! (not that Long Island isn't a pretty big place and I don't know where exactly you will be, but it will be ON THE ISLAND, and hell that's close enough! heheh)
