On Friday I decided to take Keegan to chinese buffet for dinner. It was interesting. I put a whole bunch of different things in front of him and he eyed them all suspiciously. He smelled a couple of things and ended up eating fried noodles, crab rangoon and his fortune cookie. He was really excited to be out for dinner and kept waving at the other diners. I did have to feed him more when we got home but atleast he was exposed to new foods. It usually takes a couple of tries before he'll really give stuff a chance. We had a nice long walk when we got home and a nice evening together.
Saturday we met some of his friends at an orchard. The boys spent three hours running around the playground, picking apples and picking pumpkins. There were quite a few other kids there too. Some of the unusual names we heard were: Valentina, Farah and Romeo (siblings), Hazen and Lyric (brother and sister), two Camerons (one boy & one girl) and a Brooklyn (girl). The only time Keegan sat still was when we were on the cart ride. He fell asleep two seconds after we got in the car to head home. After he got up from his nap (after I carried him up to his crib and took off his shoes all while trying not to wake him) we headed down to his dad's. It was Tom's birthday so I stayed while he opened his gifts from Keegan. We also brought him some whoopie pies from the orchard to use as a birthday cake. I spent Saturday night at home watching movies and trying to hookup my wireless network. It was actually good to be alone because I still hadn't processed the divorce being final and it gave me a chance to let my guard down (ie. cry and get closure).
On Sunday my friends (college ones I mentioned previously) and I held a virtual shower for our friend Holly who is due on Halloween. She lives in Michigan so we needed a way to all be together. Erika setup a chatroom for us and we had sent gifts in advance. So we surprised Holly with the help of her husband and chatted all together for two hours. I think everyone had a great time and lots of spirited conversation occurred, alot of it not so appropriate for a baby shower. We also managed to setup a date for next years's reunion which will also be a baby shower because my friend Andra is pregnant after her second IVF!! My mom came up for dinner and we took Keegan on another long walk and ran into some dogs getting a bath in their driveway. Keegan got to pet puppies, including one from across the street that was just rescued from Hurricane Katrina (only has three legs because he lost one after being shot sometime after the storm), and I got to meet more neighbors.
Tom's parents are supposed to be coming to visit so Keegan is going to spend tonight at his house. I need to remember to pick up my At*van prescription for my MRI on Friday. Those of you who know me have an indication of how claustrophobic I must be to even consider taking drugs.

I think it's great that you let Keegan try new and different foods. I would love to let Rachel try Chinese but I'm a bit nervous, since she's still adjusting to the stuff we eat on a daily basis. I'm sure in time I'll get up the nerve-I'll just have to do it when Hubby's not around-he hates the idea of Rachel starting in on an international diet so early in life!
