A Penny Saved

It was 33 degrees when I left for the mountains this morning at 8am. Brrrr. What they call a "killing frost." The weather is finally nice again but who knows for how long. I could see all the mountain peaks including those with snow on top. Cannon ski area even had a little bit of snow on the very top of the slopes. Winter is just around the corner. My meeting was good. Very productive which makes me not mind the drive even more.
I had to go to the bank yesterday to do something with my savings account and they have this cool new program. They take your debit card transactions and round them up to the nearest dollar amount. They take that difference and put it into your savings account. So it's like a digital piggy bank without having to consolidate and roll your change. For the first 90 days they match it 100% and from then on they match it 5%, up to $250/year. That's free money. And it's great for all of those people who don't think they can put a set amount away each month. This sneaks it out without you hardly noticing. So be it christmas club, vacation money or "Oh Sh*t Fund', you've got a little something tucked away.
I'm off to the liquor store and grocery shopping for my dinner party at Erika's tomorrow night. I can't wait to cook for all those friends and enjoy their company too. Hopefully Jessie can join us for the next one after she has recovered a bit more.
