Picture this: ten women lounging by the pool with various beverages, including yellowbirds, clutched in their hands. Not a child in sight.

That was the scene last night at my first meeting of the newly formed Selfish Mother's Club. The idea is that we're all moms who need a break and some fun girlie time. Each month a different woman hosts and can pick a theme if they choose. The other members bring the food and beverages. Each member also brings ten dollars for the hostess. The hostess pools the money, spends it on something totally self-indulgent and then reports back to the group at the next gathering. There are ten of us in the group so we're scheduled through next May.

I know two of the women quite well, have met a couple others at Body Sh*p home parties and the others I just met last night. They seem like a fun, lively and interesting group of women from different backgrounds. I had such a good time last night that I can hardly wait until next month!
