The Wrap Up

I had a great time at Falcon Ridge despite the thunderstorms on Fri. night. I am planning on attending for longer next year. I was so content to sit under the dance tent with Erika and listen to zydeco and watch people just let themselves be happy and move. That night we had a impromptu sing in our camp area with some neighbors along before heading over to the main stage. I headed back home Sat. afternoon.
Sun. Keegan and I met my parents for breakfast and then played at the lake again. That is our usual summer past time. I took video and some still shots for when I finally get organized.

Yesterday Keegan was officially 18 months. I would say the time between one year and now is the most dramatic as far as going from baby to boy. He wants to be so independent but still needs hugs and cuddles. He is picking up words pretty quickly or atleast has an understanding of what objects are. I think we're both relieved to be able to communicate. We get through on a mixture of baby signs, pointing and single words. And you can really see his personality. He is definitely a mix of Tom and I. He got stubborn from both sides. But it is great to watch him work things out on his own and busy himself with kitchen implements or toys. He keeps up a constant chatter the entire time. I haven't a clue what he is discussing with the spoons and plastic wear but he takes it seriously. Keegan has also gotten better with eating. He is almost completely off of baby food. He still gets some veggies that way. Blueberries are his absolute favorite item right now. Apparently he was trying to eat another kid's PB & J yesterday at lunch so we'll have to add that in too. I also just keep giving him things off of my plate and most of the time he gives it a try instead of refusing like he used to. And because he is my kid, he loves cheese. The best part is that he has remained sweet and social and is descriminating with his kisses but they are like gold.
