You know what is frustrating? Being at a conference in Conn for 3 three days and not be able to get on the internet. I could check my work stuff just fine but not go anywhere else. And I refused to pay $12/day to use the hotel's web TV option.

You know what is more frustrating than that? Not being able to tell your best friend "Happy Birthday" because you have no internet. Oh sure, we talked on the phone but that's not the same as blogging about it, which I've done every year. So here goes (a day late).

Happy 1st Anniversary of Your 29th Year Erika!

How do you tell your nonsexual soulmate all that she means to you? I love you. You are the sister my parents never gave me although I begged repeatedly. But you know what? It's better this way. We met at a time when I can truly appreciate you and what a wonderful woman you are. Thank you for being such a strong women, a loving caring person, so silly fun and an honest true friend. Thank you for all the things I named last year and beyond. I cannot imagine surviving this past year without you in my life. And you gave me more than the ability to survive, you gave me the ability to thrive. For all the kids who's lives you have changed in so many obvious and subtle ways, thank you. For all your friends who's lives you brighten and strengthen in so many obvious and subtle ways, thank you. For loving Keegan in a way that makes you and Jay truly his family, thank you. For making me believe that there is a master plan, because why else would I have been so lucky to meet you that one fateful day at the teen center, thank you. I hope you have a great week and I can't wait until Saturday to celebrate.
