Walking On Sunshine

I was all prepared to write about how I stayed home from work yesterday to catch up on missed sleep due to Keegan's new sleep plan. But I have way more exciting news!

Last month I took a long shot and applied to a national leadership development program for rural health. I wasn't really thinking that I would be competitive considering that I just got into this health specialty area last October. But then I just found out this morning that I was one of 12 people chosen from all over the country!!!!! Yippeeeee!! I am beyond excited. I can hardly focus on work. I am sure that rural health and policy aren't that interesting to most people but this sounds like such a great opportunity for me. Not only will I be able to develop my leadership abilities in order to better serve the constituents in my state, but I will also be making connections on a federal policy level. It means a few more days tacked onto the other conferences I am already attending and also an additional trip to DC next January. I really do love to travel though so that's just an added bonus.

Did I mention, Yippeeeee?!!?!!?!!
