After being down in N.O. during near record breaking heat I almost don't mind being back in cold, rainy New Hampshire. Almost.
The rest of my trip followed the same theme of good drinks, great food and fun. I bought two pieces of art at a local art fair for my new kitchen. I also got some cool ideas for gifts. For lunch we had fully dressed shrimp po boys and ate them in Audubon Park. Happy hour was a seedy dive that Angie likes because she swears it has the cheapest drinks in the world. She just may be right. Dinner was classic Cajun cuisine and the chef bought us drinks because we had New England in common. He was worried we wouldn't like him because he is a yankee (upstate New Yorker) but I let him know I was pure Northerner too. Brunch before leaving was fun because we all got different things and shared. Can you go wrong with a cheese omelette stuffed with crawfish etoufee? How about french toast made with french bread, stuffed with brie and pecans and smothered in blueberry syrup? Holy smokes they know how to eat. The good news being I only gained two pounds the entire time I was there which I can live with considering the decadence.
Oh and one more thing...I did something off of my 100 things list. Here's a hint: number 5 is no longer true.
Here's another hint:

Oh alright, I got my belly button pierced. And I was sober. And I obviously thought about it (see number 84 of 100 things). It didn't hurt although it is kind of mad at me now. I don't recommend getting one done when you have to fly the next day thus necessitating bending over and being bumped into. Also not so fun when your toddler likes to crawl all over your lap. But hey you only live once and I so want to avoid having too many regrets about the road not traveled.

I have my belly button pierced. Magdalena loves to play peek a boo with it. **rolls eyes** And she tugs on it when she nurses. Erich hates it, but I love it. :)
wow, that menu sounds so yummy! I'm too much of a wimp to get my bellybutton pierced.
Oh, ouch! LOL
HOT MAMA!
