Saturday I spent learning that it is next to impossible to pack with a toddler running around. New plan involves using his daycare teacher to freelance and watch him this weekend. We just need him occupied while we pack all the little stuff and have everything dragged out of the cabinets and closets. I haven't quite hit panic mode, which is usually when I do my best work.
Since I don't have my own house and yard to worry about I need to get my fix elsewhere. Thus I spent Sun and Mon helping(?) Erika and Jay put the garden in, plant flowers in the front and rebuild their deck. I say helping with a question mark in reference to the deck. Yes I moved wood around, helped saw boards and drill in the decking. But I also bugged Jay with all kinds of questions. I'll tell you, he had a well thought out answer to everyone of them. Doing that kind of work is so gratifying because the results are instant and long term. All the plants will grow over the summer and fill in or make yummy vegetables. The deck will be appreciated and well used by all of us during summer cookouts. Plus they are such good people you can't help but want to make their load a little lighter.
