Remember when I said that it was easier to travel around than have people at my own house? Yeah, strike that.
When you are home you can't forget stuff. And when you are up at night with your sick child atleast you are in the comfort of your own home. And your refrigerator works unlike the hotel one, a fact you don't discover until the next morning. Waaaaaah.
Our trip last Thurs. started with Tom realizing he forgot his meds an hour into the drive. We had to turn back and it went downhill from there. On Friday Keegan developed a fever which got progressively worse on Christmas Day as we headed from PA to VA. That night he was beside himself trying to get comfortable. I hadn't brought any meds because I thought we'd be safe since he had just gotten off antibiotics. Sunday morning we spent in a Northern VA urgent care clinic waiting to confirm that he has another ear infection. Poor little guy. We headed back to PA that afternoon and then back home yesterday. Traffic was crappy, Tom was stressed and Keegan was pissed about being stuck in a carseat that long. Good gosh almighty am I tired today.
In between the drama we managed to have really nice celebrations with family. Keegan was thoroughly spoiled, attempted to consume the wrapping paper and was playfully mauled by his older cousins.
Tom and Keegan are off together this week and I am at work. I am bebopping to some hospitals in different areas of the state for meetings. When the heck did it snow here?

Curried Beef Short Ribs

Finishing this dish with lime zest and juice brightens its rich flavors.

did you enjoy nova while i was gone? oh wait, nevermind you DID say you had to go to urgent care. SEE nova does suck ;)
Sorry Keegan is sick again...at the very least, your post will remind me to pack Rachel's Tylenol...just in case...when we hit the road this weekend.
bummer! I hate urgent care centers. the one in Reston is notorious for making people wait forever. Not so urgent! At the least the holiday wasn't a complete wash. Oh, and the snow...brrr!
Squeaky and I did the best thing for Christmas--didn't go nowhere. We did three trips in November, and that was enough. :)
