Yay day off! Day off!! I know that I haven't even been working for a whole month but I can still celebrate. Yay day off!
This morning Keegan and I are going to hang out with our mom's group and catch up with all his buddies. After that we are heading down to Lowell to pester Erika. I got to sleep in to 7:45 this morning (which I never used to consider "sleeping in"). The little guy slept until 4:00 am in his own bed so that was nice too.
The ironic thing is that most of the veterans I know don't even get today off. So if you are off or not off take a minute or two to be thankful for their sacrifices and those of their families.

Alisa. 37. New Hampshire. Married for two years to this wonderful, funny, smart guy. Previously married. Went through in-vitro fertilization to have my four and a half year old magical son Keegan. Stepmother to the charming Isabelle (5). Gushingly in love with our baby boy Harper(born June 10). Policy Wonk and dreaded bureaucrat. Lover of fine cuisine, honeybees, truly romantic moments and the underdog.

~a couple of the techs who work for the technology company i work for got a few 'presents' from me this morning, two of them are vets, young, they got breakfast, coffee, a couple of the magnetic ribbons that say "Support Our Troops" for their cars and I am taking them both to lunch...~
I got to *sleep in* until 7:33. Was annoyed when my back up clock went off at 5:00am. I think my husband, who has to work, did that to me!
I do feel guilty that the purpose of this day often goes unnoticed. You make a wonderful point!
Wow, that's so sad... that most Veterans don't even get today off. :(
Anyhoo, enjoy your day!
