This lucky girl has had a very decadent weekend. Friday night my parents took me to see The Lion King at the Boston Opera. It was spectacular. I had never seen the movie but I did know the characters and music. It was so amazing that I had tears in my eyes by the first five minutes. Every time you thought they couldn't possibly do anything more creative, they did. I highly recommend you go see it if you have the chance.
Saturday was the most self-indulgent day I have ever had. Erika and I are both the type of people who are uncomfortable having people do things for us. But I tried to focus on the experience and just let go. It's not hard to turn to jello after three different massages.
Over the past two years Erika has stood by me through everything. It has been a rollercoaster of being laid off, going through fertility treatments, getting pregnant, delivering Keegan and my introduction to motherhood. Erika and Jay wouldn't let me pay for lunches or dinners and kept giving me little presents and much support. Then when I knew I would be returning to work I wanted to do something for Erika that would also help her deal with her first year as a teacher. A few months ago I decided on a spa day that would be beyond the usual things that we had done before ie. manis, pedis, paraffin dips. I think every woman should do this atleast once. Because we all deserve it. Just seeing Erika's excitement and happy, lazy, relaxed grin made me all warm and fuzzy.
P.S. Much love and thanks to Jay for being my spy and co-conspirator!

What fun! You are both such great people - you both deserved it! Especially, after some of the difficulties of the last few weeks with Keegan's transition to daycare. Thanks for letting me interrupt your dinner on Friday - things have continued through the weekend, getting a little bit more on each day - but only pink/red once. I have held off for today at 2:00, though. I will probably call you later today and let you know what's what. Love,
Popped over from Erika's site - your day of indulgence sounds absolutely positively devine. I live in Boston as well and just might make a plan to check this spa out!
