Is It Really October Already?

Hello, hello and thanks to everyone for the congratulations. I had a great weekend full of friends and family. On Friday Master Keegan and I lunched with the lovely Erika. We hadn't seen her in way too long. So we pried her fanny out of her teacher chair and had her put off grading that enormous mound on her desk. Afterwards she headed back to school and Keegan and I visited the teen center where we used to work. Keegan got loved on by old friends and new. It was actually easier not being a part of that family anymore because they are in a new location where I don't have any memories. I will always support them and keep in touch but I am definitely in a completely new life phase. In the evening I passed Keegan over to Tom and went out for a yummy meal with my parents and grandparents. Our waitress did a great job updating us on the score for the Sox game. The noises from the bar were a dead giveaway.

Saturday afternoon my SIL Barb arrived from PA to attend a wedding in Boston on Sunday. I made her go with me to run errands and buy stuff for Keegan. I don't think she minded at all. We also stopped by the grocery store to get ingredients for a potluck dish. The next morning we were up bright eyed and bushytailed making jambalaya. She did the chopping and I did the stirring. We make a good team. After we got all dolled up we bid the boys goodbye and headed down to Dorchester. I was her date for the wedding which was for her good friend that relocated up here several years ago. They had it in the backyard, potluck and very intimate. I felt out of place at the beginning being the only person there who wasn't a dear old friend. Atleast I had met them before. The wedding was beautiful and heartfelt and I totally cried after one of the toasts. Barb and I got along great with our tablemates and we were giving them a hard time all evening. It was the longest I have been away from Keegan, ever. But I had such a fun time and I didn't worry or feel guilty at all. Did I mention the best part? It was when the grooms got to sign their marriage license. Yay for living in Massachusetts!
Barb had to head back home and she decided to go that night because she was wide awake. She arrived home safely but missed out on a momentous occasion. Keegan not only slept for more than four hours. He slept for almost twelve hours straight! I asked Tom if he slipped bourbon into his bottle. I got so much more done this morning after getting decent sleep myself. Of course I have no illusions of that happening again any time soon. This afternoon I went to an apple orchard with my grandparents and parents. We took pictures of Keegan in among the pumpkins. I also picked up some Cortlands to make apple crisp for when Tom's parents come this week.
It was a nice few days despite the fact that I got my period for the first time in 19 months. Do you know what that period is like? Angry, very angry. Attack of the vengeful hormones. Ugh.
