Rain, rain, rain all it has done here since Friday. Some terrific thunderstorms though. The kind that wake you from a deep sleep. But I am just about sick of gray days and puddles.
Good weekend regardless because my friend Angie came up from DC. She met Mr. Keegan and they got along famously. When she comes to visit I usually try to take her around New Hampshire to show why I love living here. But the weather conspired against us so we went the safe route. Saturday morning I made her stand in the rain at a garden club plant show while Erika and I looked for fun stuff. Later I took her to the mall and she got some deals at the G*ap. We both bought some jewelry at this store that specializes in semi-precious and unusual stones. We topped off the raw day by making a big batch of chili and having my parents over for dinner. On Sunday I stuffed her full of yummy breakfast at our usual haunt and then after a visit to my parents' house, I took her to the airport. Too fast a visit but she promises to come back when it is warmer.
Yesterday I tucked Keegan in with me for a very long nap. I think we both needed to catch up on some sleep. I felt like I was coming down with something again. But today I feel better so it must have worked.
I don't know if it is the weather or some sort of post-partum hormonal shift but I am having trouble shaking the blues. Not depressed. Just feeling sad. It looks like it will be until Thursday before I can get out to garden or talk a walk. That always lifts my spirits.
