Finishing this dish with lime zest and juice brightens its rich flavors.

Waaah

Being pregnant apparently endows you with endless patience. Things seem to be rolling right off of me. I've always been pretty mellow, but when I lose it look out. Today was a day that I earned the right to lose it. Total Murphy's Law.
What should have been a 40 minute trip to the hardware store turned into a four hour ordeal. I won't bore you with all the details but cement, sand and crushed rock were involved. Then with our trailer loaded down (aparently too much so) we finally headed home. We were halfway there when the tire on the trailer blew. Huge popping sound, trailer all over the road, me driving. This began the next episode of leaving my FIL by the side of the road and running home for wooden blocks and another jack. After another hour with no luck getting the tire off we ended up with a town cop and a tow truck. That guy got the trailer up and pried the completely destroyed rim. Meanwhile he is telling us that there is no way the hardware guys should have put that much weight in the trailer. We got the new tire on and attempted to hook back up. That is when that tire popped too. We resorted to a flat bed trailer to bring the whole mess home. By then it was after 4pm and none of us had eaten since breakfast. No fun at all. During the whole thing I just plodded along believing some how we get it fixed. No worries though, I will be returning to the hardware store with some choice "feedback" for the manager and his staff. Every time I look at our new (yet to be poured) walkway I will remember this day. Atleast the Red Sox could have won. Throw me a bone here.

What a horrendous day! You certainly had all rights to loose it. But maybe it is good that you didn't. Getting worked up never makes a situtation better. No matter how good it might feel to yell at a few bystandards!

Funny how that works! Everyone's been asking me how the heck I'm keeping my cool in the midst of all the home-buying drama (which will hopefully be over by the end of this month!) and really, I just don't know. But it's beyond the point where I can stress out about it. It is what it is!

Maybe this is mental preparation for motherhood? I like to think so, anyway...
