It would not officially be Fall without a visit to the fair. Yesterday's weather was amazing so Tom & I headed to Topsfield. Unfortunately so did everyone else so it was more crowded than we were used to. We filled our bellies with fair food and visited all the animals. I don't know why but I love petting farm animals. Sheep are still my favorites.
We also went by the beekeeping display where I went to Bee School. It was popular as ever. While Tom checked the Sox score on his phone I eyeballed the prize winning honey and beeswax products. I am really thinking that next year I'd like to enter for honey and honey comb. Maybe a little out of my league as a beginner but who knows?
Of course no trip to Topsfield would be complete without watching the pig races. We had done this in previous years so we made sure we got their early for a good spot. I don't know what it is but everyone loves a pig race. The winner gets an Or*eo cookie. Their little racing silks are held on by a patch of velcro. Apparently pig hair is like the loopy side of velcro and they just stick.
For your viewing pleasure and especially for Buzz (who only recently discovered the sport of pig racing).
Okay this isn't actually a pig.
The winner was "Elvis Pigsley"!
A little dark by this time, but boy can those piggies paddle.

Hahaha!! Pig races! I wish I coulda seen it. And I love that the silks are held on with velcro! Thanks for posting these pics. Great!
Heeey I dissected one of those piggies the other day in bio2 lab. :)
Just thought I would pass along some useless knowledge with you today: The weight of a fetus increases about 2.4 billion times in nine months.
Bad news.
The blood test was negative. I'm passed depressed, I'm devastated.
