Greetings from Penn. I was wrong, we didn't get here at 2am it was more like 3am. Double ugh. But we slept for 7 hours and were ready to roll. Yesterday afternoon we went down to Gettysburg and the Boyd's Bears factory outlet. It was cute, almost nauseatingly so. Everything was faux country bumpkin like the signs and the menu at the cafe. I don't care who you are, but you have to atleast smile at all those animals. If you can get out of there without buying one thing, then you are a stronger person than I. Our tally included:
3 mini bear ornaments
1 stuffed moose
1 bear dressed in Penn State t-shirt
(The above two were actually for Tom.)
1 piggy rattle
1 stuffed black sheep
(For Peanut's farm themed nursery.)
1 bear dressed like a bee
(That makes two different ones of those that I own.)
The creepy part was the nursery upstairs which is supposed to look like a hospital. Glass window with little bears wrapped in plastic bassinets. The woman working there wore a nurses' uniform complete with stethescope. She assists you in weighing and naming your bear after you "adopt" it. Odd. They even had a door marked labor & delivery. I am guessing that is where they store the extra bears. Lots of people thought it was too cute.
Well gotta go. I am being beckoned to go play a rousing game of miniature golf. The rest of the family is coming over tonight for a cookout.

Boyd's are so cute, but like you, I'm not into the whole ga-ga thing. I bet a little girl would have been in heaven though. :)
As a bear collector, I have always wanted to go there, but Boyd's aren't my favorite kind of bear. If he had other kinds (companies) represented, maybe I would have seen it. Maybe for the novelty factor I'd go. I'm glad you enjoyed it, though!
sounds 2 cute!!!
I miss you!!! Come back!!!! Or at least call me. :-P
