Curried Beef Short Ribs

Finishing this dish with lime zest and juice brightens its rich flavors.

Green Eggs And Ham?

I was driving around today. (I know. I ACTUALLY left the house. You are shocked and awed.) I had to pick up my freshly groomed monster dogs and run some errands. (Hint, hint. Someone's snazzy birthday is Sunday.)
Well a radio ad comes on for a new bar in Boston.
"Sixteen beers on tap and a new European cuisine with an Irish flair."
Excuse me, an IRISH FLAIR? Besides corned beef can you name another Celtic culinary acheivement? Nobody goes to Ireland for the food. That's like going to England for the beach. There are just so many other places you'd go first.
I am sure I have offended my Irish friends, including my Uber-Irish (atleast he thinks so) husband. But I challenge you to name an Irish meal that you would purposely order in a restaurant. And Shepherd's Pie doesn't count.

Shit - I was totally going to say Guinness! Thought I'd be all funny and stuff. Figures I was too late. :)

I was thinking Killian's. Seems we have beer-on-the-brain :)

Oh how funny, I just this afternoon noticed a restaurant in virtual Springfield (Simpsons Road Rage game for PS2) called Spuds-O-Rama Irish Cuisine.

So potatoes with your beer. Lots of potatoes and, well, soda bread or something.

Irish food as a selling point. What genius thought that one up?
I think I speak for the entire Irish people when I say I'm not offended. After all, we're very well aware of what unpalatable shite our native 'cuisine' is. I mean, why else would we live on curry, greasy chips, and alcohol?

(Potatoes. Bleh. After 17 straight years of freakin' potatoes, is it any wonder why I took so well to the Atkins diet?)
