I'm not a huge fan of reality shows. I have troule committing to them each week. But I've been faithfully watching the eco-challenge for years. This year it is on the USA channel. Every night this week at 10pm and then again one hour later at midnight. I am fascinated by these people. I never knew there was such a thing as a professional adventure racer. You learn each of the contestants stories after watching over the years. The teams contain four people, one of whom must be from the opposite gender. So in the last couple of years we've ended up with three men pushing their female teammate to the brink. Or on the flipside the playmates' team with their token male. The injury footage alone is engrossing. Perhaps I am deranged but I can't look away when they show the horrible snake bites and infected blisters. I think perhaps it is the people themselves I am addicted too. I admire the dedication, courage and strength it takes to embark on something like this. Sure they are probably at little crazy too. But you gotta love the sheer guts involved.
PS This year they have a team made up solely of reality TV stars. Two Survivor winners and two Road Rules participants. Loving it.

My husband and I also love eco-challenge. Since he is in Tennessee on shore duty and I won't be there for another four weeks, I am taping it so that we can watch it together.
Hey, I watched eco-challenge one "season" a few years ago and loved it. Was Mark Burnett always its producer??
