Busy, busy

Well the family got here safe & sound yesterday. Loretta was not able to come because she was sick and an eight hour car ride would have been torture. So we will miss getting to spend time with her this trip.

Today we went into Boston and went on a duck tour. It was my first time. Although it was kind of brisk, I still managed to get my face sunburned. So much for foundation with SPF. Then we ate lunch at the food court at the Prudential Center and went up to the 50th floor observation deck. The view was amazing. That's what is so great about Boston, the city is small enough that you can take it all in. Fenway Park looked so lush and green from up there. We then headed over to Faneuil Hall for dessert. Where I made the unwise decision to get a giant Napoleon pastry that I couldn't fit in my mouth. But did I admit defeat? Oh no. I picked away at the layers of filling and pastry until there was nothing left. Ha, you dare to doubt me? Of course then I wasn't hungry for dinner or anything else when we got home.

When we finally did arrive home (I really hate the public transportation down there), there were messages for me on the answering machine. One from the bee club telling me the hive openings are still on for tomorrow. There was concern that it would be too cold. The other message was from my bee supply people. She kept repeating, "Your bees are in, your bees are in." It was so cute. My plan is to pick them up after the hive opening. I finished getting the rest of my equipment ready and will fill up my sugar syrup sprayer before I install my package of bees.

Yea, "your bee are in! Your bees are in!" .. I just had to chime in, too! God, this is as addictive as a soap opera... what will you do about the cold? Will they just stay in the hive until the sun warms them up? And then will they start buzzing around, just like that? I'm already getting this notion that your bees will get to know you, that you'll be able to call them by name, and they'll never sting you, not even by accident!
