Okay I swear that I don't want to buy into the commercialism of this fake holiday. But I just love having a reason to celebrate. Since I won't be in work tomorrow I delivered my Valentines today. It was fun to dole out little treat bags to my co-workers.
Cupid got to our house early and I was greeted with the usual array when I arrived home. Tom has a formula where I receive flowers, card, a small portion of candy (at my request) and a token of his esteem. I didn't get the card yet but he says that it is coming later. He gave me a manageable box of chocolate covered cherries and this ridiculously large bag of conversation hearts. I'm guessing those are really for him since they make me sick after a while.
The best part was my gift. I told him I didn't want anything big (which I admit is unusual for me). He got me a nice digital recorder. I wanted a way to record my random thoughts and disjointed lines of poetry. I am usually stuck driving when they come to me. It's cute and tiny and perfect to carry around. Let the brilliant thoughts begin.
