So how do you start a 19 degree day in New Hampshire? With a brisk 40 minute walk in your pyjamas of course. Clearly this was not intentional. It is the inevitable result of my 70 pound Chusky (Husky/Chow mix) slipping out of her collar. She is so fluffy this time of year its hard to keep a grip on her. We both stood there stunned for a moment and then she realized her freedom and went bounding off. So I wasn't too worried until I heard our neighbor's chickens having a fit. (That's right I said chickens.) Apparently quite a few have chickens which I now know because I followed Matsi into every backyard. So I finally got her turned back towards our house. She was headed past it when she was attracted by our across the street neighbor in his truck. Which she proceeded to follow into his driveway. He was able to grab her for me. I caught up to them and he was laughing. He told me that I should get her a harness instead, the kicker is that I already have one that we use on her when we go snowshoeing. So I am putting that on her first thing when I get home tonight. When I was leaving she actually approached the door as if she wanted to go out again!! Dogs are nuts.
But I gotta say how awesome is that I was able to walk into my town office this morning and register my car in 2 minutes. Yay I love my small town.
